ARTIST STATEMENT

Esther Carodan is a London-based Filipina painter. Her work begins at the intersection of heritage and selfhood; an intimate attempt to understand, embody, and elevate what it means to be a modern Filipina. With a brush in hand and her roots in mind, she paints not only to be seen, but to show. The paintings are portals to memory, identity, and to the quiet, beautiful truth of her home.
